Ayman Ali Abdulhamied
Architect
A consultant in designing tourist projects with extensive experience in
resort and park designs acquired and applied through practice and
education. He has shown leadership and managerial capabilities in
the implementation of such projects. He possesses excellent
communication skills with Governmental officials and leaders of the
private sectors.
Yasser H. Sakr ICT Expert
Extensive experience in Architecture, CAD, e-Learning and IT
acquired through practice, research projects and education.
Conducted and managed the implementation of several studies and
projects related to e-learning, IT infrastructure, Facility
Management in addition to Architectural and Urban Design. Has shown
managerial and leadership capabilities in Egypt and UAE that are
contributing to the successful and timely delivering of outputs and

Mohamed Samer El-Mofty Biodiversity
Beside his experience in the field of desert ecosystems, agriculture
and land reclamation, Mr. El-Mofty is competent in the fields of
desertification, drought management, and biodiversity. He has gained
experience in the field of media and awareness rising, which he
acquired through formal education, working with media institutions
and NGOs. He combined technical knowledge with his talents and
experience in the field of media and mass communication to be
capable of simplifying complicated information in a format that is
acceptable by the public through campaigns that deliver the message
without scientific jargons. He is competent to use different media
channels effectively and efficiently. In addition to his experience
as a media expert, El-Mofty is an expert in eco-tourism and is
member of the Committee on Tourism and Environment.
Ezzat Abdulhameed Hassaan Climate Change and Project Management and Coordination
Eng. Ezzat Hassaan has an extensive experience
in project evaluation and management. He participated, evaluated,
such as the ex post evaluation of GEF-SGP projects, and headed
several environmental projects. Since the establishment of CDE, Eng.
Hassaan has been responsible for the managerial and administrative
aspects of projects in addition to his capacities in the field of
energy and climate change. He has worked extensively in projects
addressing the Energy Sector including Energy Efficiency and its
relation with Environment. Moreover, he has accumulated a wide
experience in National Energy Use Patterns and Forecasts including
measures to respond to climate changes, minimization of Green House
Gases and related capacity building need of the private sectors.
During his involvement in climate change related activities, he has
been at the hub of a network of concerned individuals and
institutions. Hassaan has coordinated the efforts to put together

Ibrahim Siddik Ali
Agricultural Economist
Over twenty years of extensive experience in
the field of agricultural and rural development projects, Marketing,
Monitoring and Evaluation, Economic Advisory, Economic Researches
and studies. He served as the Vice-President of Menofia University
for Environmental Affairs and Community Outreach. He is also
specialized in designing micro- and small credit schemes in addition
to developing marketing policies and relevant marketing information
systems. He has also been a team leader and member in conducting
several feasibility studies and research papers in the field of
Agricultural Credit and Finance, Marketing and Trade, Agricultural
Cooperative Baseline and Strategy as well as designing marketing
information systems in Egypt and abroad. Moreover, he has acquired
much experience on the academic level as he is a Professor of
Agricultural Economics at Menofia University. Also, he has extensive
experience in financial and credit matters as he is a Consultant
Economist of the Principal Bank for Development and Agricultural
Credit (PBDAC) and the International Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD) where he develops schemes for monitoring and
evaluating the credit components of different IFAD projects in
different Arab countries. He was involved in the discussion and
negotiations between the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and USAID
regarding the Agricultural Policy Reform. He has strong knowledge
and experience of a wide range of international organizations
including USAID, GTZ, FAO, IFAD, WFP and the Arab Organization for
Agricultural Development (AOAD). He participated in many research
projects on Women Education, Analysis of Community Factors Effect on
Equitable Distribution of Development Outputs, Rural–Urban
Differences in Family Decision, and Evaluation Model of Training
Studies in the Field of Agricultural Extension.
Gamal Ibrahim
Mohamed Ali
Chemical Engineer
Professor Ali published over 50 papers in the field of bio- and
environmental engineering systems. His research and consulting
services include a wide range of topics including fermentation and
enzyme engineering by designing and analyzing bioreactors;
investigating complex dynamic analysis of bio-systems; and designing
biological wastewater treatment systems as well. His work is in
rural areas and poor urban settlements in Egypt. He delivered
several training courses on chemical and biochemical reaction
engineering and wastewater engineering modeling of bioprocesses to
managerial and technical staff responsible for operating and
maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants.
Magdi Abdelghaffar Civil Engineer
Abdelghaffar is a consultant civil engineer and professor at the
Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University. He has extensive
experience in geotechnical engineering where he served as a
consultant for numerous projects in different areas of Egypt and
abroad. Abdelghaffar is also experienced in preparing tender
documents, bills of quantities, construction supervision and overall
project management. He provided his assistance to private sector,
public administrations and foreign and international organizations
as well.
Mohammed Shaaban Environmental Engineer
Dr. M. Shabaan is specialized in wastewater
collection system and wastewater treatment process. He participated
in designing of sewage collection system using conventional system;
small bore sewer, septic tanks, and latrines. He participated in
designing of many wastewater treatment plants employing various
techniques, such as activated sludge, trickling filters and
oxidation ponds. Dr Shabaan participated in designing many
industrial treatment processes for various types of industrial
wastes. He is experienced in developing several reuse schemes. His
competency also includes preparing environmental impact assessment
studies.
Mostafa Ali Mashhour
Architect
Extensive experience in project and facilities management acquired and
applied through practice and education. Conducting and managing the
implementation of several projects with a total cost of more than 60
million Egyptian pounds. He is able to implement extensive computer
skills in data management and advanced multivariate statistical
analyses.
Mounir Bushra Mina Solid Waste Management Specialist
Mounir Bushra is a mechanical engineer who has specialized in
appropriate technology for development; Solid Waste Management in
both fields works a policy formulation and assessment. In this
regard Mr. Bushra – through the Egyptian Environmental Policy
Program (EEPP) was responsible for providing the necessary technical
assistance to the Waste Management Department in the Egyptian
Environmental Affaires Agency (EEAA) for formulating the first
Municipal Solid Waste Management National Strategy in Egypt, which
it has been approved by the Council of Governors headed by the Prim
Minister. He has extensive experience in the domain of solid waste
management both inside Egypt and abroad
Dina Abdulhameed

carried out the tasks of translation of papers prepared for several

Dr. Hammad
is a young sociologist and assistant professor, who wrote his Ph.D.
dissertation on the role of NGOs in community development, where he
conducted in depth analysis critically evaluating a number of
community based organizations. His research interests focus on the
mechanisms for poverty alleviation. His strengths are in the
following areas: Training of Trainers, gender, child’s rights,
advocacy, Community participation, monitoring and evaluation, and
social research.

Sociology, Menofia University. Her specialization is in the
following areas: Reproductive health, community participation and

Management and Finance Consultant
Ms.
Sabry is a financial auditor with significant experience with the
work of NGOs. She is the financial consultant for the Global
Environment Facility of UNDP for Self-Assessment of National
Capacities. She is the consultant for GTZ funded project, Children
at Risk, which funds NGOs active in protecting homeless children on
the streets. She is also the consultant for the EU financed project
that the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood implements to
satisfy the needs of the physically-disabled children. Ms. Sabry
served as consultant for IFC (2005-2006) and trainer with the World
Bank to deliver training to Egyptian staff of commercial banks
engaged in financing the pollution abatement program, 2006. In the
same year, she served as the financial analyst that prepared the
feasibility study for projects that aim to introduce energy
efficiency to small and medium firms benefiting from the IFC funds.

(R&D) in protection from Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC)
Weapons; Solid and Hazardous Waste Management; Management of
hazardous substances and toxic chemicals; Management of ambient air

Mahmoud Abdel Magid Hassanien

Pollution Specialist
Hassanien is one of Egyptian
scientists specialized in the field of air pollution and its impacts on
ecosystems and humans as well. He is experienced in air monitoring and
elaboration of dispersion maps. He worked on number of research projects. He is
also an active consultant where he provided his services to number of
donor-supported projects, such as Cairo Air Improvement Project (CAIP), which
USADI sponsored.
Rifaat Abdel Wahaab
Water Quality Expert
Prof. Abdel Wahaab has wide experience in the field of environmental management systems, especially water and wastewater. He received number of awards in Egypt and abroad for his contributions to water quality analyses, and sanitation management and treatment. Abdel Wahaab worked with number of donors including, but not limited to, the World Bank, UNDP, CIDA, EU, etc. He participated in number of EIA studies in Egypt and abroad. For example, he participated in preparing EIA for the railway to serve the pilgrimage, Mecca, KSA; and the Cairo International Airport monorail (currently under construction).
